HMAS Melbourne returns from Operation Manitou (1.4 mins)
After five successful narcotic seizures in the Middle East and 203 days away from home, Royal Australian Navy frigate, HMAS Melbourne was welcomed back to her homeport Garden Island, Sydney. Minister for Defence,Senator the Honourable Marise Payne and Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Tim Barrett, AO, CSC, RAN, were amongst the family and friends to welcome the ship's company home from Operation MANITOU. Melbourne's deployment marked the sixty-first rotation of a Royal Australian Navy ship to the Middle East Region since the commencement of the First Gulf War in 1990, and was Melbourne's eighth deployment.
